I have 3 passions in my life. People, traveling, and music. The very first one, connected to almost every extracurricular activity that I take, is the greatest part of my life. This is why I decided to apply for a position of Student Ambassador and a member of Institute Representative Board at my university, where I had the opportunity to contact other international students and help them out with worrisome questions or concerns. Later on, after moving to Rotterdam, I joined the team of Venture Café Ambassadors. This place hosts weekly gatherings of inspirational people who want to have a chat, engage into an interesting conversation and exchange ideas. Venture Café opened up new possibilities and inspired me to join International Students Rotterdam (ISR) Student Association, where I became a Chair of Academic Events Committee. We managed to organize a recruitment event and connect more than 60 students with companies which were looking for international employees. The perception of making a difference and influencing other people gives me an immense dose of energy which keeps me going.
I engage into my second passion – traveling – by co-leading a Polish Globetrotters blog and creating the content. Since we do understand that people find themselves confined from traveling because of their student budget, our task is to make them aware of the possibilities of doing so on a shoestring. For example: to Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland for 100 euros. In total, not each. We do not see the money constraint as a burden but more as an opportunity to develop our creativity, flexibility, and skills connected with planning, budget, and sometimes even risk management. I have managed to turn my passion into work and, right now, I work for pm2am – Student Travel company as the Travel Coordinator. It enables me to organize the trips and make sure that the fellow travelers enjoy their time.
In my free time, I love to develop my other passion – music. I do so by dancing Zumba and playing) or trying to play) ukulele. This built up to the balance in my life and connection between wealth (working as a Travel Coordinator), health (dancing Zumba) and relations (creating strong connections with people).
