Our Silent Day – THE Shortcut to Instant stress relief

So you want THE shortcut to instant health after a crazy burnout?

It’s been 8 years in the making and here it is. The magic pill you’ve been looking for.

Art Williams is the proof that you can have your cake and eat it too (the cake being a work-life balance for overachievers like you and me). The key to winning or losing in work-life balance and life, in general, is so small, it’s scary to talk about. You can do 99% of the things right, but if you mess up that 1% you might lose Big.

I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to lose your work or life. If there is one thing I hope you’ll learn at the end of this post, then it’s that you can win BIG in all areas of life. No matter what people tell you.

My first challenge to you.

You don’t need to take this challenge. However, if you want to know how to achieve that elusive work-life balance with a flow-like productivity, then I challenge you to read the entire post.

Are you ready for my story that led to the creation of the Why Not 3 community?

Are you ready to find out the #1 biohack to start making stress symptoms disappear, and achieve that work-life balance that all successful people seem to have?

I discovered this work-life balance biohack in a very surprising book. It is a practice that is as old as the Bible (and that is not a metaphor).

It’s called “The Silent Day”.

And probably the first thought that might pop-up is: Have you copyrighted the *beep* out of it?

No, we haven’t because sharing is caring, especially when it comes to your work-life balance. Balancing everything in your life works better when you share it with your loved ones and a community of people that are on the same path.

What is our “Silent Day”?

To understand what it is, I need to tell you my story towards achieving that work-life balance with peak productivity.

Back in university, I was working 6 to 7 part-time student jobs and I didn’t know where I was going with my life. The only thing I knew is what everyone else told me. I was put in one of the toughest law schools, in order to continue towards a safe job. Why? Because everyone always told me to become a lawyer, and I never felt like questioning them.

Every day I would stare in the mirror and think: Is this all I deserve? Why do I feel so stuck? Is it normal that I feel so sad all the time?

I always wanted to find a shortcut for everything. I started traveling to different countries and meeting up with successful entrepreneurs with those questions in mind. I started asking how they made their vision & work-life balance happen, thinking that maybe starting a company would make me happier. I started experimenting with their business advice and long story short it worked but it wasn’t easy.

But,

Something bad was happening to my health. I was juggling my law studies while running several startups, and being active in an organization that was collaborating with the U.N. on how to create a sustainable future for our youth.

Things started spiraling down and wherever I turned the people around me kept saying the same thing. There is no other way to success, you have to sacrifice your relationships and your health if you want to make it. To them, work-life balance was a myth. The only way to succeed in life is to go all-in and forget about the rest.

If you heard any of that work-life balance mumbo jumbo before, then you are dealing with the same issues I was dealing with back then.

But, the story is not finished yet.

I couldn’t accept that becoming successful really meant sacrificing your work-life balance, relationships, and health. So, I started researching, I started devouring speech after speech, book after book and then when I almost gave up on achieving that work-life balance that everyone strives for it hit me. I found this speech from Art Williams, a successful entrepreneur that became ridiculously successful because of his work-life balance, not despite. In that speech, I heard exactly what I was looking for:

Work-Life Balance is possible.

Having a proper health and good relationships is combinable with a successful business. That was the first thing I needed, a confirmation that would shape my mindset towards finding solutions, not problems.

With a new sense of hope about achieving that elusive work-life balance I wanted, I started looking deeper into something called the “biohacking community”. The first time I heard that name, I wasn’t sure if it was a joke or not. (Believe me, it’s not.)

I ended up making friends with several biohackers who taught me secret principles that can create a balance between health and wealth. A shortcut to an effective work-life balance.

One simple trick is that you hack your way of consuming food so that it can give you more energy throughout the day. Which in return makes you more productive (which you can read more about here…).

But,

They couldn’t answer all my productivity and work-life balance questions.

So I continued my search.

Several months later I stumbled onto a secret community of entrepreneurs. These guys (and girls) were traveling around the world running businesses based on the principles of Tim Ferriss his book (The 4-Hour Work Week). It seemed too good to be true, but I promise you it was real.

I ended up joining them in the trenches of online business. They forced me to make countless hours of mistakes and really figure out what it means to have a business and a work-life balance. There were many burnouts, and at one point, it happened. Something just clicked. I learned the skill of patience, consistency, and business automation. But above all, I learned the skill of taking a break.

With ‘a break’, I don’t mean finishing up work and then going to the couch and watch tv. My mentor called it the Genie-trip. You go away for two weeks and you turn everything off. During this trip you plan your next year and what you want to work on.

The tricky part is the first week. You start to experience withdrawal symptoms from all your gadgets (just as if it were real drugs). Once you recover suddenly your mind starts clearing up. You start realizing you can hear your thoughts, but above all creativity starts coming back. Remember that skill you had when you were a child and playing with things like cardboard boxes or toys (or is that just me)? Well, I’m here to tell you that you can get that feeling again.

But, back to the story.

I wasn’t at the point yet, where I could just take a simple Genie trip. However, I was slowly getting sicker and my body couldn’t keep up with all the stress. Even though most of my businesses were automated, there were some things that I couldn’t automate (yet). Like going to meetings, closing deals and doing quality checks.

One day my body gave me a frightening warning signal. It had been warning me for weeks that the stress was getting too much. I started developing rashes on my hands, my concentration was slowly getting worse and I was getting angrier at people.

Then on that day, my right arm stopped working. I couldn’t lift it up anymore and I had a Civil law exam coming up.

I realized that I had hit my limit.

My body had given up.

Several years later (and a lot of talks with work-life balance mentors):

I figured out what went wrong in my work-life balance and how I could prevent it from happening again. Thanks to certain people, work-life balance conferences I attended and mentors who connected the dots for me.

I learned how to make your passion into your business, how to make your relationship flourish and how to deal with stress to become more calm and confident.

If you read the whole post then you definitely deserve the Why Not 3 work-life balance secret, that I discovered and that I’m sharing here exclusively with you:

The silent day goes like this:

1)

You choose one day of the week. Mine is Sunday.

2)

This day stays empty no matter what. Exclusively to recharge your batteries and achieve that work-life balance you deserve -> with peak productivity.

3)

There is no alarm to wake you up. You get to sleep as much as you want.

4)

There are no electronics because the night before you turn everything off. You can get a remote-controlled plug from eBay or something.

5)

When you wake up the first thing you do is

Yep, you’ve guessed it. Nothing.

No speaking.

No electronics.

No stimulation.

No eating.

(Consult a doctor first before you start intermittent fasting.)

6)

a)

What can you do?

The following is what I do:

Every Sunday I’ve created a routine that I sit on the couch and focus on what I feel. The first time I did it, I was soooo bored. So I started talking to myself (silently). I started reading a work-life balance book, not-related to studies. A book that I was happy to read and always postponed.

It took several hours, but suddenly that voice that always doubts me started vanishing. I could suddenly and maybe for the first time see the world in the present time (like in the book “Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle). I never realized how people did it, but here it was an easy but not so quick fix. You just do nothing (or read a book) for long enough and at one point all the “poison” exits your brain.

b)

The moment my mind is clear again (trust me you’ll know when it happens), I start feeling more energy in my body. I don’t feel exhausted and tired anymore as I did in the morning. During very stressful weeks, this happens around 16 ‘o clock, but usually, I start feeling it around 13 or 14 ‘o clock.

When that moment hits, I take a piece of paper and I start looking at my next week, my next month and my next year. I draw three circles: Health, Wealth, and Relationships and I start filling up those circles with whatever I’m doing for each of them.

That way I get an overview of what I’m overfocusing on, and whether or not I’m still maintaining my work-life balance.

The reason I do that is that I tend to focus a lot on the wealth aspect, not so much on the other two.

c)

That Sunday is also my calibration day. I talk to my core-self and figure out what it is that I truly want to do and I take the time to then plan it out.

I also do an exercise to check on my core values which are: Honesty, Loyalty, and Curiosity (yes, you can have more than one).

I look at situations throughout the week and see if there was something that I didn’t do according to one of my core values.

For example: Sometimes organizations call me up to train them, or invite me out to speak at their conference. In the past, I used to just say yes, which resulted in me traveling to really shady places with people that I didn’t resonate with. I never backed away from a promise.

When I started implementing my silent day, the first thing I would answer is that I need to think about what they said. I would then take it to my silent day and reflect whether or not that event would bring me closer to my goals. If it didn’t, then I would call them back that day and say “no”. Even if they would offer me more money, I would still say no.

Why? Because it doesn’t bring me closer to my core goals.

7)

The key to making the silent day work is doing it consistently every week.

Results only start showing two months later (yea, it’s not a quick fix). That is why I told you in the first blog post, that I ACTUALLY want to help you. If you want a quick fix for 9,95 per month, this is not the place to be. Having a true work-life-balance and becoming successful at what you do requires discipline.

8)

Now Relax, it doesn’t go on forever. I usually end my silent day around 18 ‘o clock. I start cooking food around 16:45, so that I can slowly enjoy my food between 17:00 and 18:00 and then at 18 I click the “on” button and I can hear the buzz of my gear coming to life.

9)

That’s it, do this consistently and you will see clear results that will cure your stress symptoms.

____

In short, You can have your cake and eat it too.

It’s been several years now since my first silent day. My team has grown to 20 full-time, and 7 part-time staff. Still, I keep the silent day, almost religiously, every week. Even after all these years, I don’t have to sacrifice relationships or my health in order to have a profitable business.

This is not a dream, it’s real and it can also be real for you.

Cheers

As you may have noticed (if you saw our “superprofessional” testimonials). We divide the matrix, the universe and our Blog into three categories: Health, Wealth, and Relationships. If you are new to this blog, I would highly suggest to read our first blog post called:

Relieve your stress with our silent day

Here you will find a personal story that I share with you and that led to the creation of Why Not 3? Work life balance for Entrepreneurs.

You will find my #1 biohack to start making stress symptoms disappear. I discovered this biohack very recently and in a very surprising book. It is a practice that is as old as the bible (and that is not a metaphor).

I hope you enjoy the content and I’ll see you on the inside.

_____

Short story before I end this post:

When I first came up with the idea of this book, people called me crazy. Now, a while later it’s becoming more realistic. Getting a publisher on board, the book is getting out of the editing phase. It can all happen, also for you.

As you will discover in my book I started off from zero, with no family to back me up. It was the realest “sink or swim” situation you can imagine, my environment was far from optimal and I didn’t know anyone entrepreneurial.

That in short are some of the reasons why my team and I at Why Not 3 are focused on helping you. So that all of us can enjoy being surrounded by a supporting community of entrepreneurial people, that are motivated to balance their work and life.

Cheers
